Just a few minutes before I race out the door. My coworker and I are finally doing the car pool thing today. yay.
Summer is slipping away and I haven't done much in the way of fun. A party or two but no real trips anywhere fun. Ah well, I'm working at least, right? And yes, I'm still working. Mostly preparing for an audit with the state in a couple of weeks. I'm still looking for other work, but the job market really and truly sucks right now.
Gretchen continues to hang out but she's aged a lot since her surgery. She's actually an "old cat" now. Its sad, but ok too. I imagine I'll be crying all over this blog when she goes though.
Thanks to everyone who sent good thoughts to my friend Rita. She's a poster child for post surgery recovery (yay!). Now she's gearing up for some chemo. I know she'll fly through that too.

There's looming and thooming in the darkness and so I post, even tho' I be illing with fever n mucus prolific. And yes, I will go to work today, as I have this whole week.
Been caught up in landlord fu and financial fu but the car is still purring and the tapes are still crispy so as the kids say "its all good." (I once told a kid who said that to me "NO! ITS NOT! A LOT OF IT SUCKS!)
A friend is having her spleen removed tomorrow -- suspected lymphoma. So between 10am and noon pacific time, on Friday, point your good thoughts to san ramon, CA if you'd be so kind. She's one of the truly good folk.
